My Friend Bonne Bell

Being sick is no fun! I have actually been pretty luck for awhile and haven't caught anything (amazing considering I was spending 12 hours in a preschool with 4 and 5 year olds)!!
But a few weeks a go I started feeling terrible. I went to work everyday that week, but by Friday my ear hurt so bad that I swear I could feel it in my brain and breathing was no fun either (especially at night). So I finally went down to the Urgent Care and surprise surprise I had and ear infection. The doctor prescribed Augmenten and I was really faithful about taking it every morning and every night.
The only problem was, I didn't feel like I was getting better. In fact, I felt like I was getting worse! By Tuesday I felt like I couldn't hear out of my left hear and all day Wednesday I had a terrible headache. So I went back down to the Urgent Care so they could look at my ear again.
The guy didn't even have the light thing all the way in my ear when he was like "Oh yeah, it's infected." He then listened to my lungs and told me he wanted me to go have some chest X-rays done.
Yeah.... I was kind of freaking out!! First off because I had to take chest X-rays, but mostly because I was wearing a horrible shirt!! I have had this shirt since probably like 9th grade, and yep, it's to small. But I was wearing a jacket over it so you couldn't tell, but when they make you take all the off..... yeah..... not fun!!
So when they got the X-rays back the verdict was Walking Pneumonia. And hear I was thinking I was just going in for my ear!! So they gave me two Z packs and sent me on my way!! Sleeping was still pretty hard and seriously one of the only things that got me through the night (beside my box of tissues) was by strawberry chap stick!! THANK GOODNESS for Bonne Bell and good old Lip Smackers!! I seriously went through like a tube and half of that stuff within a two week period!!

So even though being sick was really crummy, it did give me some time to catch up on some things. Like rereading Twilight and getting halfway through New Moon!! I also got caught up on some much needed sleep! And of course I had to watch some really good chick flicks like:

And,

And,

And, Gosh, I'm lazy I know!!

So after a few days I got a call from the Urgent Care place telling me they had sent my X-rays to a radiologist and he noticed some spots on my lungs. So of course I am freaking out in my head while the lady is trying to tell me that it is probably NO BIG DEAL THAT THERE ARE SPOTS ON MY LUNGS and after I am finished with my antibiotics they want me to come back in for more X-rays. So I went back today, totally expecting that they would say "You are good to go", but no...... the stupid spots are still there. I have to go to the hospital next week for a CT scan. Okay, I am not going to lie...... I am pretty freaked out about it. Again they are trying to make it sound like its not big deal, and hopefully it's not. But what if it is??? And yeah, I am not to overly thrilled about being shoved inside a small tube for a CT scan........ and geez all I went there for was my stupid ear!!! Ahhhhh!!

A Hair Raising Tale

So I have this problem. A lot of time when I look in the mirror I feel like my hair looks orange. I honestly don't know what my problem is or exactly when it started, but seriously like once a week I have a really orange day. It doesn't matter how many time you tell me my hair looks brown I will still see orange. (*** I have to put a disclaimer here.... I think red/orange hair is beautiful..... on other people!! Amy Adams has amazing hair, and so does my neighbor Laura!! And I LOVE Isla Ficsher's hair in Confessions of a Shopaholic!!!!)
So needless to say, I have a hair coloring addiction. I have to do it every few weeks to get rid any signs of orange (haha, I just realized this sounds like I am trying to get rid of greys..... I wish that were my problem!!!). Well, I haven't really had a consistent hair person for awhile. The person I used to always go to always seems to have a crazy schedule. So for a long time I would make my mom color my hair for me...... in our bathtub. It went okay for awhile, but when we started missing big chunks of hair I decided it was time to go back to the pros.

So I went to a new lady last week. OH. MY. GOSH. It was no good!! I told the lady I didn't want anything close to red/orange and this is how my hair turned out:
It was terrible!!! I am not even kidding when I say that this is my worst nightmare!! I sat in the bathroom for a really long time holding back tears. The worst part about it.... that terrible red color was only on my roots, everything else was a different color. It looked like I was a natural redhead who hadn't had a color job in months! AWFUL!!!
And then the next day, I really wasn't thinking and wore a blue shirt. NO GOOD!!! It only accentuated the horrible color of my hair. That Friday was so crappy and I was self conscious all day long! And then I had a blind date that night and that was hard too because I was so worried about my ugly hair.
I went back and forth as whether or not to hold out for 4 weeks or just get it fixed. I told myself that it was just hair and that I could make it, but by Friday afternoon I couldn't take it anymore. I had to bite the bullet and call the lady to tell her I didn't like it (VERY hard for me) and she agreed to fix it!!
All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for dark ash brown and throw in that I will NOT be going back to that salon!!

Twilight at Midnight (Again)

Where to even start with this one!!! I had the best night ever on Friday and yes, it was all Twilight related!! I have been counting down to the release of the movie mostly because I was so excited for all the the bonus scenes, interviews, comentary and extended scenes!!
Earlier in the week I had received a text message from my cousin Lindsey asking if I had heard that the cast of the movie would be here in Utah. I got really excited and then thought, no way!! Why would they come here?? So I did some googeling and came up with nothing.
Despite that though, I made plans to meet up with Lindsey and my good friend Christine at a release party just to hang out and have fun and get our copies. On Thursday night, I was trying to find a store for us to go to, and I came acorss a site that said various stores had been chosen across the country and members of the cast would be attending each one! I was SO excited that Lindsey had been right and tried to see if I could find out where they would be. No luck!
So Friday, all day, I kept trying to think logically about where they would send a star, if they really were coming here. My conclusion was that it would be the Borders in Murray. First, because the store is right by the freeway and second because they had a special edition of the DVD coming out. So I planned on calling my cousin later that day to let her know that's where I thought we should go.
Well, later that day, after work, I had about seven text messages. Some of them were from my cousin and wondering where we were going that night, but I also had a message from my totally awesome friend Danielle!! She had been keeping up on the Twilight Lexicon webiste and had found out that the star was going to be at the Wal Mart in Riverton. So of course I called everyone that was going with me and said we have to get over then ASAP!!!
I think that we got to the store around 9:00 p.m. and met up with Danielle and her friends (a HUGE THANK YOU to them for letting us cut in line with them)!! There were lots of police officers there and a some EMT's just in case it got out of control. They had a really cool gazeboo with white lights all over it with Edward and Bella cutouts inside!! It was so much fun hanging out with my sister, my cousin, my friends and all the other Fanpires!!! :0) I had my camera with me and took tons of pictures!!!

If only he were real!! Haha!!

Me and my friend Christine. Notice her awesome Cullen crest choker!! And you see my read beads.... I totally won those for knowing that the ballet studio was on Cactus Street!!

This is me and my cousin Lisdsey in our awesome Vampire Baseball shirts!! I was so excited that I finally got to wear mine to something!! The store was having a costume contest, so of course there were character look-a-likes all over the store! I think this guy was my favorite Edward! He had the jaw thing down really really well and his golden contacts were amazing!!

So I think that it was supposed to be a surprise as to who was coming, but again Danielle totally had it down for us!! We found out that Rachelle Lefevre who plays Victoria would be coming. Since I knew she would be there I HAD to find something for her to sign,so I HAD to buy another copy of the Twilight book (Yes, it is my thrid copy, haha), but it has a different cover than my other two books so it was worth it. Close to 10:00 Christine and I tried to hang out at the front of the store so we could see here when she first walked in, but it was crazy and some of the Wal Mart workers were kind of mean so we went back to our spots. But we knew the second she walked into the store because of the crazy loud screaming!! We were all pretty excited as the line kept moving even though we couldn't take pictures with her!!

Here she is!!! She was so pretty and so sweet!! I LOVED her hair and wish I could figure out how to get mind like that!! I tried to take a million pictures of her as we got close because they were trying to keep the line moving.

This is Rachelle signing me book!! Ahhh!! It was so crazy to be looking at someone from my most favorite movie (just as a side note, it makes me kind of sad for what ends of happening to Victoria)!! Something that I noticed that was really cool was that after she signed your item, she looked up and made eye contact with you and said thank you!! How awesome is that!!

So at the end of the night I actually walked away without a copy of the movie, crazy I know!! But thanks to my awesome friend Danielle I found out that Target would be selling a 3 disc version of the movie the new day!! So I went on Saturday and got my own copy!! But after handing out at Wal Mart for three hours and buying the best movie ever, we couldnt just go home and go to bed!! So we bought some red KoolAide and then came back to my house to watch it!! I was up until about 4:30 in the morning but it was so much fun!! Thanks to my awesome cousin Lindsey, my cool friend Christine and my little sister Kaylee for hanging out with me that night!! I had a blast!!

Lasers & Leprechauns

So, I meant to write about this back on St. Patrick's day, but I never did, so here it finally is!
First of all, it was my parents 25th anniversary. It is really weird to think that they are already half way to 50 years!! I wanted to get them something really cool and special since it is a pretty give anniversary, but I couldn’t think of anything good or creative! We are doing some re-painting in our basement, so I thought about getting them a new computer desk and/or chair, but I am still a poor college student, so that one flopped. Then I thought of a doing a sketch like my aunt has, but I didn’t give myself time to get something like that. Then I thought out a doing a photo thing, but again, no time. So what did I do… a lame old gift card. Oh well, at least they can get what ever they want now!
Second, I have talked about my new addiction to making my own jewelry. Well about a month ago I found a really cool clover charm at Michael’s and was really excited to turn it into a St. Patrick’s Day necklace. It was really simple and I finished it the night before!! I was pretty dang excited to wear it that day!!
I also had a laser hair removal appointment that day. I was really really nervous for it because the last time I went for my arms it had been awful!! It hurt SO bad and I the whole time I just kept thinking: This pain is not worth it, I’m gonna have to cut my arms off!!! And then to top it off, my arms were red for the next hour and I had a few burn blisters. Yeah, no fun!! So I was not to thrilled about my latest appointment, but oh my gosh!! It was a THOUSAND times better this time around!! They have this awesome cooling machine which blows freezing cold air and helps to numb your arms! I almost didn’t feel it at all, and the best part was that the tech was able to turn the laser all the way up!! Wahoo!! So I should start to see some awesome results now!!!
March 17th was also an important day in the crazy, obsessive Twilight world!! Catherine Hardwick’s Directors Notebook came out, so I HAD to stop and get it!! So I had a ton of extra time between my LHR appointment and work, so I stopped at one of my most favorite places….. Barnes and Noble! Can I just tell you (you are going to think I am weird) I LOVE the smell of that store!!! And it’s not because of the Starbucks that is in there!! I really like the smell of new books!! It was fun just wandering the isles looking at all the books! Not only did I get my Directors Notebook (which is fantastic by the way) but I also got a book called “The Memory Keepers Daughter” and got a whole lot of ideas for other books to read.
And what would St. Patty’s day be without Leprechauns!! I’m not even kidding people!! So while I was at Barnes & Noble, there were a couple of guys (most of them pretty old) that were walking around in green suits, it the legs rolled up and long knee socks!! Hehehe!! Yeah, they were pretty into it and it was pretty dang funny!! I kept waiting for one of them to kick up there heels and shout “Top O The Morning” or something!! Yay for festive people!!
And that was about it. I wore my green so I didn’t get pinched and so did everyone around me so I couldn’t do any pinching! And besides the guys at the store, no leprechauns with pots of gold….. maybe next year!!

60 Days

The light and the end of the tunnel is finally visible!! In 60 days, on May 8th, I will FINALLY graduate from the University of Utah! It has taken me SO long to get my bachelors degree and I am glad that I wont have to worry about it any more!
I don't think I am going to know quite what to do with myself once I don't have any more homework and lessons to plan! That will the a crazy awesome feeling!! I wont have to try to remember my darn long UofU log in password or buy another expensive parking pass! Ahhhh, it will be the best!
I'm trying really hard this semester to get a 4.0 GPA. In high school, I was one of those over achievers and tried my hardest to get the best grades possible. A light switch flipped though once I got into college, and while my grades haven't been bad, they could have been so much betters. So this semester I am determined to do the best I cant do. The only problem..... I have big time senioritis!! I am just ready to be done and almost don't care what my final grades are. But the end is so close so I cant give up! Plus, last semester I made the Dean's list for my grades and it really was an awesome feeling to get that email, and I want to do it again!!
As if I wasn't excited enough about graduation, I will get to sit by my best friend Lacey. She and I have been going to school since kindergarten and high school graduation was fun because it was like "Phew, we both made it!" Graduation from the U will be crazy because we will have gone through every stage of school together! Plus, can I just say how excited I am that I will know that person sitting next to me, instead of being in between two strangers!
I also have been thinking about a senior trip. I didn't do one when I graduated from high school (I think my friends and I talked about driving to California, but my parents wouldn't let me go) and I think it would be so much fun to do one now that I am completely done with school! I don't know where to, or who with, but seriously, even if I have to go by myself, I am going to go on a cool vacation this summer!!

And speaking of counting down days..... there are only 13 days until Twilight comes out on DVD!! I for one and pretty dang excited!!

30 Day

Time goes by so fast!! There are some weeks that seem to drag on, but really by the time Friday gets here, it seems like it was just Monday!
It really seems like just yesterday that my family was taking my brother down to the MTC to leave for his mission is Seoul, South Korea! On the 14th it will be exactly two years since he left. And in only 30 Days we will be going to the airport to pick him up! Crazy!!
The month is going to go by so fast! Especially since we have a million things to do before then! We have started to repaint our family room and we want to try to paint him room for him too. Plus my mom wants to try to touch up the bathroom that we just did last summer! So hopefully time will slow down just a little bit so we can get everything done!

Attack of the Killer Pants

Back in November I got some really cute new works pants that have big cuffs on the bottom. I don't know how to exactly explain the pattern, but they have thin stripes in them, so it took me awhile to find a shirt that matched just right. The first time I wore them was on the day I went and saw Twilight by myself.
That was the first time the pants attacked. During the middle of the movie, I had to go to the bathroom, so I got up from my seat at the top of the theatre and started walking down the steps. I made it almost all the way to the bottom when the heel on my right shoe got stuck in the cuff and my pants and ripped a big hole. Thank goodness for the railing or I would have fallen, head first, down the last 5 stairs. I'm pretty sure every one that was behind me was dying of laughter.
So I was really sad about my brand new pants because of the hole, but I figured that the cuff mostly covered it, so I would have to get some kind of patch to fix it. I kept wearing the pants and was just extra careful any time I went near stairs.
Well yesterday at work, my pants tried to bring me down again..... And I wasn't even on the stairs this time. I was up near our teller line, which is covered in time, and somehow my right heel ended up the hole that had been created in the first attack. This time I had nothing to grab onto as I was tripping over my own feet. My stupid shoe was stuck in my pants and I was hopping around on the one foot trying to maintain my balance. Now here is the part you are not going to believe... I didn't fall down! Wahoo!! Amazing huh?!?! If you know me, you know that I fall down a lot, over simple things, so this really should have brought me face first onto the tile floor. The whole incident probably only lasted about 2 seconds, but it felt like and eternity to me! And of course every single teller stopped to to watch me jump around, along with some of the members standing there.
Yeah.... really embarrassing! I could feel my face go bright red and I tried to walk it off like it was no big deal!! I went back downstairs after that, and didn't come back up till it was time for me to leave!! So yeah, those darn pants have now caused me trouble twice, but I am sure I will wear them again. So until the next attack.......
