A Page From The Book Of Random

My stupid Elf Yourself thing didn't work.... Well I guess I shouldn't say that. It worked until I tried at some text and a title. I was going to do it again... but it kind of takes awhile and I am lazy.... so, no dancing elves this year!!

So, over the last couple of days I have been going through all of the pictures on my cell phone, deleting the boring ones and sending some of the interesting ones to myself! There were some pretty random things on there, most of which have some interesting stories, so I thought I'd share some of them!!

This is a before picture of my closet!! Before what you may ask..............WONDER HANGERS!!! They are seriously wonderful!!! Haha!! I don't know how I lived with out them!!!

Next are a few pictures of my kitty cat!!!I think this one some time in the Spring or Summer!! He loves stretching out on the porch in the sun!!!I thought this one was pretty funny!! He was trying to catch a mouse!! He sat in that one spot for almost an hour, but he caught it!! He was so focused on it!! I was right behind him before he realized I was there.... then he freaked out because I startled him!! Poor kitty!!

This would be a HUGE beehive in a tree by my work!! I was sitting on the grass by this tree, reading a book on my lunch break when I noticed it!! Kind of freaked me out!! So I waited until the fall, when I thought the bee's would be dead, or gone south, or what ever it is bee's do for the winter, to take the picture!

Have you ever had a Beyond Glazed Doughnut?? If you are ever in Draper, and you are willing to spend around $3.00 for one doughnut (or $14.99 for a dozen, hahaha) you can get one of these tasty babies!! Mmmmmm!! I would recommend the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip (pictured above) or the S'more!! Delicious!!!

I know this one is not a very good picture!! SORRY!! One day I went to Panda Express on my lunch break and this was in my fortune cookie!!! "To shine is better than to reflect"

I love love love the beach!! This is Huntington Beach in California, just before sunset!! I went there is October and the water was pretty cold by then!! But that didn't stop me from putting my feet in!!

Another vacation picture!! This was a fun sign hanging in a restaurant in Forks Washington!! Makes me laugh!! They even have one about the werewolves... but I didn't take a picture of that one..... that would be taking a picture for the WRONG team!!! =0)

And I think that is about it....... for now!! I still have some pictures to go through on my phone!! And there are still a few days of the year left!!!

New Moon Rising

***Just a warning in advance.... if you HAVE NOT seen New Moon yet, there may be a few spoilers in this post, so.............. if you don't want to know anything about it until you see it, don't keep reading***
It really is amazing how fast a year can go by!! I remember last year after Twilight came out and they announced that New Moon would be coming out in November 2009, it felt like way to long to wait! But it came around SO quick!!
(This was my white board at work!! Starting at day 50 I counted down until the day was finally here!!)

I got SO lucky thanks to some great people at work and was able to get tickets to a 9 o'clock p.m. show on Thursday night at Jordan Commons!! I took my friend Christine with me and before the show we decided to stop at Burger King for dinner. We stopped there because........ andThey had New Moon crowns too!! We asked for them and the mean lady wouldn't give any too us!! She said we would have to buy a gift card to get one! LAME!!

It was CRAZY at that theatre!! Lots and lots of girls and lots of Team Edward/Jacob shirts!!Before the movie started they were doing a bunch of giveaways (I didn't win anything but lucky Christine did), but we were both so impatient for the movie to start!!

Before the movie started a lady got up and informed us that because we were at a special event, all of our electronic devices had to be OFF!! And she didn't just mean turned down to silent... she meant all the way off!! Why you ask?? Because there were big guys on both sides of the theatre watching us through night vision binoculars! It was kind of hilarious! As soon as the lights went off you saw these guys scanning the theatre for any one trying to record the movie!! They did that all through out the show!!

The movie was awesome!! I was so happy that they stuck so closely to the book!! Of course there were some difference, but there has to be you make a 563 page novel into a movie!! I really liked the way they used Bella's emails to Alice to help tell the story!! And I love the part with Jessica at the movies!! She is hilarious ("That home boy could have been a psycho", haha)!! I really like the Volturi parts too!! The red eyes are TONS better in this one!! And Dakota Fanning is a perfect Jane!!
The end killed me though!! I was ticked at first!! I guess I shouldn't have been surprised...... I knew that part was in there..... but man what a cliff hanger if you haven't read any of the books!!
We took this picture as soon as we got back in the car!! Ahhhh!! We loved it!! And the best part.... we got to see it again!! We already had tickets to a show at 12:15 a.m. at The District, so we raced over there so we could see it AGAIN!! And guess what.... it was just as awesome the 2nd time!! Even if by then I was SO tried!!
This is what time we got done with our New Moon night..........2:45 a.m. Haha!! Almost 7 straight hours of all things New Moon!! I had SO much fun with Christine and all my other friends that night!! I know it's a crazy obsession but it's just fun for one night to act crazy and be excited!!

I have seen it two more times since opening weekend, and it's just as good every time!! People still cheer when Edward walks away from his Volvo and grown women still scream when Jacob Black takes off his shirt!! Even if you are not a Twilight fan, going to the movie for that entertainment would be pretty funny!!

Talented

I wish I was a crafty person!! I love getting on every one's blogs and seeing all the cute and crafty things they are doing!!
My awesome friend Amanda made some super cute fabric letters for her little girls and they look SO awesome!! She also made her a dang cute tutu!! I wish I knew how to sew!! I remember taking that class as part of TLC in middle school and it was HORRIBLE!! I got my worst grade ever in that class....... a C- and I cried for a long time about it!! I was never able to finish my locker caddy and the stupid teacher threw my material away...... yeah.... sad!! I probably need to try again, and start out with something simple like a pillow case or draw string bag! Haha!!
Another crafty friend..... Rachel! I just finished reading her blog and holy cow she just made some of the cutest wooden blocks for her little boy!! It's amazing what you can do with Mod Podge!! That stuff is seriously awesome!!

And then I have some crafty friends that sell their amazing projects!!
First I have to tell you about Lara and her super cute new headbands!! If you are a fan of the flower clips for your hair, you have to see these!! I've already told my mom that they are on my Christmas list!! If you want one for yourself or want to add them to your wish list, check them out here!!
And then there is April! If you have ever admired a Bumble's watch, you will really like these!! She has TONS of cute bands and lots of fun faces!! She even does custom order stuff!! Check her blog out here!!
A third crafty friend is my cousin Kristen!! She has a vinyl machine and she makes some amazing stuff!! She has a blog with a craft of the month that is typically holiday related!! So much fun!! Or she has a website where you can custom order lettering for your own projects!

Hope you have fun checking out all of these cool blogs!!! And who could forget about my favorite website of all time.... ETSY!!!

Words From A Slacker

Man!! It has been awhile since I posted anything! I am pretty much a slacker!! The funny part is that I get on some of your blogs every day and wonder "why in the heck haven't they posted something new yet"!! And here I sit daily thinking...... hmmmmm.......... I should probably post something on my blog!!
But really, I just love getting on and seeing what other people have going on..... pretty much because I DON'T have anything interesting going on! But, I have a goal to hit 100 posts by the end of the year, so you might see some pretty random stuff coming up!

First off, THERE IS ONLY ONE WEEK UNTIL NEW MOON!! I cannot even tell you how excited I am for this! I got SO lucky, thanks to my wonderful friend Tess and scored some tickets to see the show on Thursday night at 9:00 p.m. Wahoo!! And I still have my midnight tickets too!! I pretty much think I am going to see it twice in less than 6 hours!! It sure better be good!!

Work is really slowing down! In some ways it is kind of nice because I don't feel like I am running around like a crazy person!! It also gives me a chance to catch up on some misc stuff that I had in my "to do one day when it's not nuts" folder!! But at the same time, the days can feel super long!! Sometimes I feel like I have been there for 20 hours!! I guess people aren't to excited about going to a car lot in the cold to look at cars!!

Speaking of the cold....... this is about the time of year when I seriously start considering moving to a warmer climate! Or at least to a place where there is not so much snow!! I am NOT excited that there could/will be snow on the ground this weekend (my poor cousin is getting married Saturday so everyone cross your fingers it will hold off until Sunday)!! My brother stuck a back of rock salt in my trunk to weigh the back down. That's supposed to help while driving right?? I think I might go buy a few more bags...... forget good gas mileage!!! I'm also still trying to find the perfect set of snow ties! I'm also trying to decide if I want STUDDED snow tires (p.s. I CANNOT BELIEVE no one told me about that little invention sooner....... would have been AWESOME to know about last year). Has any one ever had them?? Would you recommend them?? Or am I good with just set of the snow tires??

But with coldness comes Christmas!! My friend Nicole informed me today that there are only 6 weeks til the big day!! Ahhhhh!! The year is flying by!! BUT, I am pretty excited about getting all the decorations out!! I have some new stuff to put on the tree like my little Mickey ears hat ornament, my Seattle Space Needle ornament and my favorite:

And I'm not gonna lie...... I occasionally listen to the Christmas music on 100.3 or 106.5 when I'm driving home from work!!!

Well............... I guess that's really it for now!! Like I said..... I really don't have much going on, so I don't have much to post!! But seriously..... get ready for some really random posts because they are definitely coming!!

Less than a month to go!

Ahhhhh!! There is less than a month to go until New Moon comes out!! I can even tell you how excited I am!! I found a new trailer today on the Twilight Mom's and it is awesome!! Bettter than what has come out so far in my opinion!!

And have you seen the clip where Bella punches Paul in the face??? Ahhhhh!! Cant even wait!!

"In the state of Washington, under a near constant cover of clouds and rain...........

.......... there is a small town named Forks."I cant even tell you how excited I was for this part of my Washington trip!! I know, I know, I am pretty lame, but it was just fun to go out there and see all the places from the book! Christine and I had planned to drive out there Saturday and then spend the day there on Sunday, but there was a crazy hotel mix up, so we ended up going out there on Friday. The drive to Forks is AMAZING!! On the way there, we first went south towards Olympia and then headed back up the coast. I cant even describe how beautiful it was, and the pictures honestly don't do it any justice!! Every inch of country side is covered in big trees and greenery! I LOVED it!!

At one point during our drive, we were right along the coast. It was one of the pretties drives and I have ever made in my life! And even better, the sun was starting to set so we had some really pretty views!

What a perfect and beautiful place to make a pit stop! It was seriously a place that I could have spent hours if we would have had to time!! Finally after a few hours we made it to our destination!!We drove into town VERY exciting and singing to Super Massive Black Hole from the Twilight soundtrack!! Haha!! Our first stop was at our hotel room. Like I said, we had had a little miscommunication and were not sure if we'd have a place to stay. We were originally supposed to stay of the Forks motel, but they were supposedly full, so we ended up at the Pacific Inn Motel. This actually turned out to be a VERY good thing as we were able to stay in a Twilight themed room!! It was a perfect way to spend the Twilight part of our trip!! There was a big poster of Edward on the wall, a poster of Bella and Edward together, and lots of Twilight themed stuff like towels, lampshades, nightlight, and even light switch covers!! Complete with black and red walls, and sparkly black curtains!!

We of course had a lot of fun taking some very silly pictures with the objects in the room (if you are bored, you can see them on my facebook page). Something that I thought was funny was the fact that we had to sign a waiver before they let us into our room saying we wouldn't steal anything and would be responsible if anything turned ups missing!! Haha!! The next day was the best! I had so much fun being a total Twihard and driving around the town finding all the places from the book! We went to city hall and took pictures with Bella's truck:
And then we drove over to Bella's house:These poor people!! I cant even imagine how many people sit outside their house and take pictures!! I'm not gonna lie...... I really wanted to get our and stand by that sign that says "Home of the Swans", but I had self control and didn't!! After the Swan's house we drove over to the hospital!! The is supposed to be a sign somewhere that says "Reserved for Dr Cullen" but we couldn't find it. We drove all over the parking lot and couldn't see it!! I guess that means I will have to make another trip up there sometime to try and find it!!

We also spent some time on Spartan Dr at the high school. It was SO cool to see the sign!! Wahoo!!

Christine took the last picture!! Good job huh?!?! This was probably one of my favorite stops on our trip around town!! Well.......... almost........ THIS was probably my favorite.......This is the Cullen house! YAY!! It is an actual bed and breakfast where you can stay if you are willing to cough up lots of money! But how cool would that be!!! And it is in such a pretty area!! It is in a little grove type area, surrounded by lots of trees!! Very cute house!! And there was a cute little cat hanging around outside and a really awesome castle looking sculpture too!! And guess what is right next door........The police station!! Haha! I just thought that was kind of funny!!
We also spent a lot of time at a really awesome store called Dazzled By Twilight!!

This store was AWESOME!! They have everything you can think of related to Twilight!! Pens, mints, bags, maps, key rings, cups, stickers, shirts, and a whole lots more. This was one of my favorite stickers: I Kiss A Vampire And I Liked It!! Haha!! We also went to the Forks Outfitters store!! We bought some stuff to make breakfast there and I also got a really cool stainless steal water bottle that says "Bite Me."Something kind of funny about Forks is that everyone and I mean EVERYONE is monopolizing on the Twilight thing! The candy store, the restaurants, the hardware store, hotels, etc. It's so funny!! They have a list of places you can go to find Twilight stuff!!

I had so much fun spending the day out there! I would love to go back some time (seriously people, let me know if you want to go!! ). I think it would be fun to go next fall over Bella's birthday because they have a whole big birthday celebration. And finally, look at this cool sign Christine spotted as we were driving out of town:

That Time Of Year

Autumn is most definitely my favorite season!!

I LOVE everything about the fall!! I love the smells (cider, cinnamon, leaves, pumpkin), the crisp cool air, coming home after a long day in work clothes and putting on sweats and a hoodie and best of all the beautiful changing leaves and colors!! Nothing better!!
When I was up in Washington, we had a few different people ask us where we were from. We of course told them the great state of UTAH and a few of them had some cool things to say about our state. Well mostly about our mountains. Two of them talked about times when they had visited or passed through the state and how amazing and close the Wasatch mountains were! I, surrounded by new scenery, told him that his state was SO beautiful thought with all their amazing green-ness, water and pretty views. His response was something like, "well, yeah, that's true but I see it every day. You guys get to see the amazing colors on your mountains when the leaves change in the fall."

Was he not right??? All 5 of the pictures above were taken someone in the mountains of Utah! I particularly like the last one..... fall colors in the front..... snow on the mountain in the back! Haha, classic Utah weather (much like today).

Anyway, it just got me thinking.... just about how I probably take our pretty mountains and the changing colors and season for granted!! I LOVE going to new places and seeing new scenery, but I had never thought about the fact that people who don't live here love what we have, especially this time of year!! It has been interesting driving to and from work everyday this week! I have been more aware of the mountains, and how huge and pretty they really are, even if they are covered in snow and it's still only September!!

Adventures In The Evergreen State

It's been awhile since I've been on any kind of vacation..... well, for me any way! Traveling is one of my most favorite things to do, so I was really excited about this trip! I have been wanting to travel to the Pacific Northwest since about last August, and I was happy to finally be going!!
My awesome friend Christine agreed to go with me, and after finding some really good deals on a lot of things we decided to do it!
Our plane didn't leave until Wed night and it was such a long day waiting! All I could think about were the 50 things I needed to get done before I left! Of course I wasn't packed, so I was rushing about right until the time Christine came to get me for the airport!!
We didn't get to Seattle until pretty late. It was about 9:45 p.m. Seattle time which meant I was pretty tired because it was almost 11 my time. But our hotel was right next to the airport, so we were able to hang out and relax not long after arriving. I was SO excited for the next day and for our trip to really start!
(This is how close we were to the airport..... literally right outside our hotel room!! But I never heard plane taking off or landing! It was awesome!!)
But what would a vacation be without bumps in the road! We woke up the next day feeling like everything was perfect, because up to that point everything had been great!! We walked down the street to Thrift so we could pick up our rental car, and that is when the trouble started! We had booked our car online a few weeks before and our total was about $177. Well, the lady had me going through a bunch of stuff, and said that they would have to add some extra fees on. Well, our new final price was going to be $495!! Holy crap!! That is what I was thinking in my head!! There was no way that we were going to pay that price for a stupid car (it was more than double what our plane tickets cost us) so we had to walk back to our hotel. Stupid Thrify! We got back to our room and for a long time we tried to find some good deals on cars! We were in the city of Seatac, so we were about a half hour from downtown, so we HAD to have a car or we'd be stuck and the airport for 6 days! At one point we even considered renting scooters!! Haha!
After not really finding anything great, we just decided to get ready for the day, and talk to the front desk to see if they could help us. It turns out there was a free shuttle so a nearby, HUGE mall, so we decided to take it! We had so much fun hanging out and shopping!! The mall seriously was huge! Two big floors and on the third level there is movie theatre! We ate in the food court and went into lots of different stores! I was able to find a battery charger (I'd left mine home) and Christine found some cute shoes!! We also decided to see a movie while we were there (Julie and Julia), which cost us TEN BUCKS!! Jeez! And we even saw it before 6:00! Those poor people are getting ripped off!! But the movie was cute, and it was definitely better than hanging out in our hotel room all day!!
After a fun day of shopping, we went back to our hotel room and we were finally able to get our rental car situation figured out! We also got online and booked our Forks hotel room!!!

So the next day, we had planned to spend the morning in Seattle because we couldn't pick our rental car up until later in the afternoon. But, again we had more bumps in the road!! We'd already had car troubles, so I guess it was time for some hotel room troubles! We found out that morning that our Forks hotel room hadn't been booked because the hotel was full. Just great!! So we had to do some quick thinking and plan changing and we decided to head to Forks that day!
But more on that later!!

(This is us trying to figure out what to do after we found out our Forks hotel room feel thru)

After our fantastic road trip to Forks, we were on to Seattle! I was excited to be going to downtown and too see famous landmarks like the Space Needle!! Our first stop was Pike's Market! If you have never been there, it's hard to really explain how cool it is!! There are little stores all over, but people can come in and set up little booths too! You can buy everything from fish to flowers, necklaces to coin purses and fruit to pastries!! So awesome!! One of my favorite things was the flowers!! There is a whole, big long section where they sell fresh bouquets of flowers everyday! The flowers are amazing; the colors were so bright, and they have every single kind you can think of!! Some I'd never even seen before!! And then best part..... you can get a HUGE bouquet for only $5.00!!!
A popular part of the market though is the fish shops, which makes sense since Seattle is right on the water!! I was not a huge fan of the smell...... actually I HATE fish, so I held my breathe most of the time when we walked by those shops!! But, Christine told me about smoked salmon and she told me I had to try some! I was very very nervous about it and really planned to just swallow it whole! The guy gave me a HUGE chuck (to big to swallow) and I thought there was NO WAY I was going to be able to eat it. BUT................... it was AMAZING!! It didn't taste fishy at all and then I was pretty happy to have my big chunk!! Am I ready to eat other kinds of fish though......... uh............... probably not!!
Something else we did that was pretty cool, was an underground tour of part of the city. We went got to go down a lot of creepy stair cases and walked down a bunch of alleys while learning some pretty interesting stuff about how the city was started. The best part though was walking under the sky lights!! They are pieces of glass (that have turned from clear to purple) set into the sidewalk that let light in from above!! At one point our guide turned off the lights and it looked awesome!!

(From above)

(From below)

And a trip to Seattle wouldn't be complete without visiting the Space Needle!!

It's a lot taller than I thought!! I always love going places and seeing famous landmarks!! The Needle has a restaurant on the top that actually rotates and Christine and I debated for awhile whether or not to eat there. In the end, we decided that we were on vacation, so what the heck!! The food was crazy expensive, but it was pretty dang yummy!! When we were done, we got to walk the rest of the way up to the top!! We were there at night so the view was amazing!! All the lights were on and we could see lots of ferry boats and cruise ships going across the bay!! It was pretty chilly up there and it was the one time I didn't have a jacket, so we didn't stay outside to long!! (Hanging out on the top of the Space Needle. I look AWFUL, but it's the only picture I have of us up there!!)

The best thing about Seattle though was the scenery!! They are right on the water and because of all the rain there are SO many trees!! I mean, you drive on there freeway and it feels like you are driving through the Utah mountains!! And when you are actually IN the Washington forest.... holy cow!! There are SO many trees and so much greenery!! I loved it!!

This is driving on the FREEWAY between two major cities!!
A sunset view of Elliot Bay from Pike's Market. I LOVED just staring at it every time we passed it!!

I love this picture because you can see Mt. Rainier in the distance!! It is HUGE!! The first time I saw it, it shocked me for some reason.... I don't really know why!! Probably just because I am used to being surrounded by the mountains, and in Washington they don't really have huge mountain ranges, so this one just sticks out like crazy!!

This is the view from our downtown hotel room
The view from the top of the Space Needle
This is Mt. Rainier from the air. No, that is not snow!! Sure looks like it though huh?!?
