Parking Lot Wars

Well, it happens almost everyday up at the U....... fighting for a parking spot. This is because the U has terrible parking!! They sell way more passes than they have spots for and its a constant battle to get a spot.
But the war I am talking about in a specific place, in one particularly small lot. Its right by the building I need to be in, and since I don't have very long after class ends to get all way down to Sandy for work I HAVE to park in that lot.
It's a really small lot with way to many A spots (I don't even know how you get an A pass, by the way) and not nearly enough U. So every Monday morning, the battle for a spot begins. You pull into the lot and drive around a hundred times hoping that some spot will magically appear. And then, class gets out and the real war begins. It's more of a stalking war really. You see someone coming down the stairs and you drive as fast as you can to be the first car following them to their spot.
And of course, the dumb people never remember where they parked!! So after following them down two rows, they double back and go down an up row and some stupid other driver gets your spot!! Grrrrrrr!! It's times like that that I seriously feel like getting out of the car, knocking on their window and saying "that should have been my spot jerk, move your dang car"!!!
And then you start the process all over, hoping that the next person has a better memory of where they parked. Some days you loose the battle miserably, losing numerous spots people that YOU KNOW came into the lot after you, and other days, like today, you got a SWEET parking lot!!
Ahhhhh, the feel of victory!!

It's Official

Today it is officially fall!! Wahoo!! And it has felt like a fall day with the chilly air and all the rain!! Fall is definitely my favorite season (even if it is when school starts). I love the pretty leaves that turn red, yellow and orange and hearing crunch as I walk on them! And it is great to look out my window and see the usually blue mountains with patches of red and orange.
And it’s also apple cider season, Mmmmmm!! I love cuddling up with a cozy blanket, good book and a mug of warm apple cider!! The smell is the best! I have so many candles with that smell! I think it has something to do with the nutmeg!!
The next great thing about fall…. Hoodies! Yes, that is right, it is also hoodie season! Hoodies are my most favorite thing to wear! If I didn’t think I’d die of heat stroke, I would totally wear them in the summer!! And if it wasn’t against dress code, I would wear them at work too! I am always on the lookout for a great new hoodie (I found one at Target this weekend by the way)!!
But the best part about fall, PuMpKiNs!! I LOVE pumpkins a lot!! There is a pumpkin patch near my house and I love driving past it everyday!! And the pumpkins are now big enough that I can see them poking through all the greenery!! I can’t wait to get some to put out in front of my house and I love to carve them at Halloween. And who could forget Pumpkin Pie cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory! I am literally counting down the days until that stuff is for sell (9 days, FYI)!!

But, as we know well here in Utah, who knows how long this great season will last!! October starts soon and for all we know, there could be snow covering the ground in 2 weeks! AHHHH!!
So here’s to hoping that the best season of all last until December 1st!!

A Dream Come True!!

So, while I was at the state fair with my family I entered a drawing to win laser hair removal, and guess what..... I WON!!! WAHOOO!!! I am so flippin excited I can hardly stand it!! I won a $300 coupon and because I booked an appointment so fast, they gave me an extra $100!! How awesome is that!!
So I went in for my consultation today and they hooked me!! They are giving me an amazing deal and there was no way I could pass it up!! It is going to be so great, and it's honestly a dream come true!! I have wanted to have it done for so long and now I am actually going through with it!!
No more creepy men rubbing my arms and no more little kids telling me I look like a boy with such hairy arms!! I cant wait to get started!! It will take about a year to get all the treatments done, and there is a little bit of pain involved but it will be so worth it!!

My Husband Wouldn't Like That

Oh man! I had a really crazy thing happen to me the other day and I'm still kind of grossed out by it!!

So, I was on my way to meet my family at the State Fair, but you have to have cash to park, so I had to stop somewhere because I never have cash. I decided to stop at an Albertson's, just because it was easy to turn into and would be easy to get out of. I was down town, right by the fair grounds, and it's kind of a scary part of town.
So I grabbed a box of granola bars and a bottle of water and got in the shortest line. Well, I'm standing there, and the next thing I know the guy in front of me turns around and starts staring at me. This guy was Hispanic, with a 5 o' clock shadow and gold in his front teeth. I was trying not to make a mean first impression, but he was freaking me out. He kept staring at me and pointing to the tabloid covers.
Then he was like "You beautiful" and started rubbing my arm. WHOA!! Total invasion of personal space!! I kept looking up at the cashier and the lady she was helping, hoping they were almost done, but of course it was an old lady with about a million coupons!!
So then this guy starts asking me my name, and I had to repeat it for him 4 times. Then he started telling me his name, and there was no way I was going to be able to repeat it.
The guys next question....... "Are you married?" There was NO WAY I was going to tell this creepy guy that I'm single, ewww!! So after I tell him Yes, I'm married, he was like "to bad, to bad" and turned around. While he was turned around, I was quickly trying to take my CTR ring off my right hand and get it on my left!!
Well then, the dude turns back around and asks if he can have my number!!! HOLY CRAP!!! So I had to tell him "I don't think my husband would like that" and as the guy was turning back around he muttered his "to bad, to bad".
FINALLY, the old lady was done and the guy was able to buy his 6 pack of Budweiser. After I paid for my stuff and got my cash I literally ran to my car hoping that crazy man would not be outside waiting for me!! I didn't see him, but the second I got in my car, I locked the doors and drove away as fast as I could.
Needless to say, I will not be visiting that Albertson's ever again!!

Good Friends, Good Times

Mmmmmm, can I first just say how much I love Baskin Robins ice cream!! Let me just say that Very Berry Strawberry and World Class Chocolate with hot fudge and whipped cream on top is very delicious!!
I got to eat this yummy treat when I hung out with my friend Lacey!! She and I have been friends since I moved in across the street from her when I was one and a half. She got married a little over a year ago, so we haven't been able to spend much time together, so it was great to hang out with her.
My favorite part though was after we got back from ice cream. We sat in Lacey's car and just talked!! I loved it because we used to do this all time. We just still in the car (sometimes for hours) and just talk about anything and everything. It was so great to catch up on things with her!! I miss seeing her everyday!!

And now for another Mmmmmmmm (my favorite Mmmmmmm), CHEESECAKE!!! I LOVE that stuff!! I got to eat the best kind at the Cheesecake Factory with my awesome friend Nicole!! I miss Nicole too, because she used to work with me, so I got to see and talk to her everyday. Now she is working at the Utah Book Festival, and it can be crazy to try and coordinate our schedules!! But I miss being able to talk to her everyday because she always makes me laugh and who else am I supposed to get advise from about creepy boys!!

All I can say is thank goodness for friends!! I really don't know what I would do with out them!!

I was (and still am) a student and the University of Utah. It was my senior year, and because I changed my mind (and schools) so often, I'm still not quite done.

4. Yesterday...
I was at work at Jordan Credit Union. I have been sick for the last few days, but because of people being on vacation, and people taking their short days, I had to go and tough it out.

2. My left arm is shorter than my right arm!
3. I hate big, loud, noises like thunder, fireworks, fire alarms, balloons popping and sirens.

5. When I am home alone, I turn my music up loud and use my flat iron as a microphone
6. I love to travel, but I hate being flying in airplanes. I would rather fly, because it gets you there faster (not to mention that most of the place I want to visit require an airplane ride), but I hate being so high in the air with the weird ear feeling.

So, now it is my turn to tag six people, but I am seriously lame and dont know 6 people with blogs. Soooooo, the only person I have to tag (since Danielle already did it) is Nicole!!

Stars, Smores, and Sleeping Bags

So I spent a night in the great outdoors this holiday weekend. My family went up to a campground by Mirror Lake, somewhere high in the Uintah mountains. I wasn't to excited about the trip at first, because I am NOT a camper. But my parents borrowed a motor home, so the trip really wasn't that horrible.
One of my favorite parts was looking up at the stars. It never ceases to amaze me how my stars are in the sky and how beautiful they are. If hadn't been so cold, and if I wasn't so scared of wild animals, it would have be awesome to fall asleep looking at the stars. I had lots of fun trying to remember the constellations and I even saw two shooting stars.
And of course, what would a camping trip be without roasting marshmallows. So we all sat around the fire roasting marshmallows (and Starbursts, haha) and eating yummy smores!!
Next comes sleeping bags, one of my least favorite parts of camping. I feel like I can never get comfortable in those stupid things and they make me feel kind of claustrophobic. So trying to fall asleep was not fun.

The next day we did some 4-wheeling and that fun really fun; I had forgotten how much I like to do that!! The trails we went on were awesome!! My favorite one ended at a river, somewhere near Lily Lake. The area was just so pretty with the flowing water and all the pine trees!!
I only stuck it out for a day though. As pretty as the mountains are, I can only be up there so long.
It felt so good to come home and shower!! I LOVE being clean!! And it was also great to sleep in my own bed, sleeping bag free!!
