Attack of the Killer Pants

Back in November I got some really cute new works pants that have big cuffs on the bottom. I don't know how to exactly explain the pattern, but they have thin stripes in them, so it took me awhile to find a shirt that matched just right. The first time I wore them was on the day I went and saw Twilight by myself.
That was the first time the pants attacked. During the middle of the movie, I had to go to the bathroom, so I got up from my seat at the top of the theatre and started walking down the steps. I made it almost all the way to the bottom when the heel on my right shoe got stuck in the cuff and my pants and ripped a big hole. Thank goodness for the railing or I would have fallen, head first, down the last 5 stairs. I'm pretty sure every one that was behind me was dying of laughter.
So I was really sad about my brand new pants because of the hole, but I figured that the cuff mostly covered it, so I would have to get some kind of patch to fix it. I kept wearing the pants and was just extra careful any time I went near stairs.
Well yesterday at work, my pants tried to bring me down again..... And I wasn't even on the stairs this time. I was up near our teller line, which is covered in time, and somehow my right heel ended up the hole that had been created in the first attack. This time I had nothing to grab onto as I was tripping over my own feet. My stupid shoe was stuck in my pants and I was hopping around on the one foot trying to maintain my balance. Now here is the part you are not going to believe... I didn't fall down! Wahoo!! Amazing huh?!?! If you know me, you know that I fall down a lot, over simple things, so this really should have brought me face first onto the tile floor. The whole incident probably only lasted about 2 seconds, but it felt like and eternity to me! And of course every single teller stopped to to watch me jump around, along with some of the members standing there.
Yeah.... really embarrassing! I could feel my face go bright red and I tried to walk it off like it was no big deal!! I went back downstairs after that, and didn't come back up till it was time for me to leave!! So yeah, those darn pants have now caused me trouble twice, but I am sure I will wear them again. So until the next attack.......

Blessed By The View

While I was driving home from class tonight, south on I-15, I saw something really awesome.... I had a perfect view of the lit up Jordan River temple as well as the Draper temple and I couldn't help but think of how much cooler the view will be in a few months when the Oquirrh Mountain temple is finished and lit up as well. Three temples in one line of sight and the knowledge that there are four in one valley alone. So amazing!!

On Monday night, my family was driving home from my aunts house in Riverton and we took a little detour up to the Oquirrh temple and looked out the East to see the other two temples. I was thinking about it then (and it came back to me tonight as I saw it again) just how wonderful and how blessed we really are here in the state!!

We hear stories all the time about people that save up money all their lives so they can take one trip to the temple miles and miles away, but how often do we really think about what a huge sacrifice that is?? I can stand on a hill and see three temples and drive only 20 minutes and be at another. No where else in the world can that be done. What an incredible blessing, that I know I for one don't take advantage of.

J Is For.....

So, like I said, I have been really behind of reading people's blogs. So while I was catching up on my friend Nicole's blog, I found that she had tagged me for this game kind of awhile ago. So, since it is Presidents Day and my choices are laundry or playing this game, I choose to put the laundry off and do this tag!

Nicole gave me the letter J (thanks my friend for giving me a hard letter, haha) and I have to come up with 10 things that I like that start with that letter. Here it goes!

1- Jewelry!!
I have always loved jewelry! My mom used to have this cool jewelry box with lots of old jewelry in it and I loved to look at all of it and try it on! I love walking through the jewelry section at any store and recently have decided that I like really big pieces! I also have a new obsession with making my own jewelry, especially stuff that looks old and vintage! I have spent SO much time at Michael's lately buying beads, pendents and other jewelry making supplies!!

2- Jamba Juice!
Mmmmmm!! Just thinking about this one makes me want to go over and get a delicious Strawberry Surf Rider!! I love them lots!

3- Johnny Depp and Jack Sparrow
I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies anyway, but Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is hilarious! He does such a good job and I never get tired of watching that movie!

4- Jasper Hale
As long as we are talking about fictional characters, I have to mention Jasper Hale and the fabulous Twilight series. When I read the books I am most definitely on Team Edward, but when I watch the movie, I am all about Jasper!! :0)

5- Junk Food
This is pretty apparent when you see me! I like chocolate.... A Lot!! And movie theatre popcorn is the best!!

6- Journey's
This is a synonym for traveling right?? I LOVE to go on vacation! It is probably one of my most favorite things to do! One of my dream jobs would be to have some kind of travel planning business! I would love to help people plan their dream vacations and find them the best deals! And of course I need to travel around the world myself so that I can give them first hand advice!!

7- Jesus Christ
I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

8- Japanese Cherry Blossom Lotion
Bath and Body works has awesome lotion and this is one of my most favorite scents! I have the lotion, foaming hand soap, hand sanitizer and body cream!! Yep, its my favorite!!

9- JoAnns
I love this craft store! They have really cute scrapbook stuff and lots of fun fabric (even though I have no idea how to sew). I haven't had a chance to go there to look at their jewelry stuff, but I am sure it is awesome!! And the best part, they accept other peoples coupons so you can get lots of good deals!!

10- Jordan Credit Union
Okay, I am putting this one on here for two reason. First of all, I have been stuck on coming up with things that start with J since number eight and when this popped into my head, I went with it! Second of all this is my employer! Yes, there are days when work sucks, but really I think you get that with any job. I put it on this list because I am grateful that I have a job. I know that a lot of people are getting laid of and even more people are having a hard time finding a good job. So I am glad that I have a secure position at JCU!

Wow!! That was harder than I thought it would be!! J is a tricky letter!
So yeah, if you haven't done this, and you are really bored, see what you can do with the letter R!!!

Better With Ice

Our dumb ice maker has been really weird lately. It was spraying water all over the place so we had frozen sheets of ice all over everything and then it started leaking into the basement. No good. So we havent been able to use it for the past 5 or 6 days which has been terrible! I love water!! It is honestly my most favorite drink, but it's just not the same without ice!! So on Saturday we finally went and bought a bag and dumped it into tray. Thank goodness for ice!! I seriously missed it!!

Also, I feel pretty bad because I have gotten so behind of reading other people's blogs. I used to do it at work during my down time, but we have been blocked from the internet so now I cant. I know that I can do it when I get home, but I usually have homework to finish or laundry to do, so I dont have tons of time for blogging. So sorry to everyone if I havent left a comment on some of your posts!!

One Of THOSE Days

***Sigh***
Thank goodness this day is over. Man, it has just been one of those days when everything seems to be wrong, and everything seems to be going against you! Wednesdays should be good days! It means you have finally made it have way through the week and it should all be down hill from here. Uhhhhh, not today though, that's for sure!!
It started out with running late for my internship. I hate being late and I always try to be online or a little bit early. Well we all have those days and the teacher in my classroom is pretty easy going about that kind of thing, so I wasn't stressing to much. But as I pulled into the parking lot and started walking inside, I saw the director of Head Start. Oh great!! Of course she had to show up on the one stupid day I am running late. And I'm not talking 4 or 5 minutes late, I was a little more than 10 minutes late!!! I was so embarrassed and worried what she thought of me for the next 4 hours. ***Sigh***
Then the "fun" continued at work. We were really short handed today, so on top of doing my own job, I was trying to help our Indirect Lending department get caught up on their loans and then ended up having to go upstairs to backup our Member Support department. Sometimes its just hard covering so many different things!
Oh, and another fun thing that happened at work...... my left shoe broke. The button that holds the strap down popped off so I was left walking around with my strap flapping all over the place. And even better.... I still had class that night, so I had to go to school with a broken shoe. And just as a cherry on top, about 3 weeks ago the same darn thing happened to my right shoe, so I had to take it in to get fixed. So now I am going to have to go back and have the other one fixed. Maybe I should just take this as an opportunity to give myself some shoe therapy and go get a new pair!
And then, as if the day hadn't been long enough, I had class from 6 to 9. ***Sigh*** We had our first critique and I was already really nervous about it. Well, she displays our pictures up on the board for everyone to see with our names plastered across the bottom and then she asks you questions about it in front of everyone. Well, guess who's pictures just happened to be first. You would be right if you guessed mine.
It was terrible people!! Terrible!! My teacher gave me a bunch of grief about my first set of pictures and had the whole class laughing. I sat in the back, really upset, and I could feel my face glowing red. I was SO mortified!! I honestly don't even want to go back to class any more!! I know I have to, but I feel like I am going to be trying to redeem myself all semester. ***Sigh**
So yeah, its just been a really long day and I am so glad its over. But it is one day closer to the weekend so I guess that is a plus.
P.S. I'm sorry that this post if nothing but complaining about my pitiful life!! I just needed to vent for a minute!! Thanks for listening!! :0)
