A Look Back

Wow! I cant believe that 2008 is almost over!! Time has gone by so fast as it always seems too! I found this cool thing on my friend Danielle's blog and I thought it would be fun to answer the questions. It was interesting to think back on the year and remember things I had totally forgotten!!!

10.Did you suffer illness or injury?
Oh geez!! If you know me, then you know I am a big klutz! I fell on campus and rolled my ankle, I fell off my bench and hurt my wrist and I’m sure there were a few more times I hurt myself at the beginning of the year that I cant even remember now! I cant believe I turned 23 years old this year!! I feel ancient!! It was my first day of classes (lucky huh) so I had to go up to school that morning. But then my mom and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. After that, while on my way back up to school, my car overheated and broke down (again, lucky me huh) so my parents had to come up and save me. I was so upset about it that I ditched my first day of class!! Haha!! And my parents got me a big bouquet of balloons which I was SO excited about!! And that was about it!! Birthdays are not as exciting when you are old!

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having more money and being skinnier (I guess that's two things, but I am leaving them both there)

Snowed In

So, I don't know about everyone else and where you are at this moment, but here is West Jordan we are getting major snow!! It just keeps coming down! And it's not little, light flurries, its the big snow flakes that stick and pile up! My poor dad has been out shoveling snow all morning long and as soon as he gets some drive ways cleared, the snow starts back up! We probably have between 12 to 15 inches in our yard right now! Whoa!! And if it hadn't rained yesterday we would probably have a lot more!
In our front yard, we have a green electricity box that is probably about three feet tall. Here is a picture of it, getting close be being buried in the snow!

My dad had to clear a path from our back porch to the shed with the snow blower because it was to heavy to do it with a shovel!

Also, I cant believe that another Christmas has come and gone. I am not ready to take the trees down (especially my awesome Twilight tree at work, pictured below), to put away the decorations and turn off the music! It didn't matter that I started listening to Christmas music in October, it still flew by!! With school and work there just wasn't a lot of time of focus on it! I am really hoping that next year, with school out of the way, I will be able to enjoy it! That is not to say that this Christmas wasn't a good one, because it was! I asked for a yellow, iPod nano and I was excited to find one under the tree!! Along with a bunch of new movies, some gift cards, a piano book and a cute new Willow Tree angel! I was also super excited about our new Nintendo Wii!! I kept telling my parents that we really should get one, but I never thought they would!! We played Wii sports, and took my sister down in boxing, but was defeated by my mom! We also played Smash Brothers, which was interesting because none of us really know how to work the controllers so we were just moving our hands all over the place and pushing buttons!! Very fun!! :0) We also go to talk to my brother the other day, who is on his mission in South Korea. It sounds like he is doing a really great job and it is crazy to think that he will be coming home in about 4 months! Wow, time goes by so fast!! While we were on the phone with him, he told us that he had convinced his mission president to let their zone watch Home Alone, one of his favorite movies!! So that night (Christmas Eve for us) as I was wrapping presents, I watched that movie too! I had forgotten how hilarious that movie is!! And then yesterday I watched Home Alone 2 and was again rolling with laughter!! So it was a good Christmas, it just came to fast!! And I cant believe that we are only a week away from 2009!! I better start coming up with some resolutions!!

Random Acts of Writing

So this post is going to just be about a million different things that I have been thinking about all week long, starting with:

SNOW!
Oh geez, where to start on this one. Probably with the fact that I HATE IT!! I hate driving in it, I hate the coldness of it, the wetness of it, the fact that is ruins my hair-do's, the fact that I have to scrape it off my car in the morning and that it soaks the bottoms of my pants.
I guess I shouldn't complain about it to much, because really we haven't had to deal with it for to long, but we still have months to go before it is really over. AHHHHHH!! I don't know how many more driving-to/from-work days I can take!! Coming home from work on Friday was so scary and the worst part about it was that I didn't have my cell phone. I felt so lost without it.
And while I am on the topic of driving in the snow, I have to mention the stupid drivers out there. The ones that tailgate me and make me more nervous than I already am and the ones that cut me off as if I had all the time in the world to slam on my brakes so I wont plow into them. It drives me crazy!! So I have decided that when I finally get some money to buy a car, it WILL have AWD cause I hate being without it!!

Next would be CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
This time of year is so crazy! There are only 4 days to Christmas and guess what.... I DON'T HAVE ALL MY SHOPPING DONE!! And I'm not talking about being short a gift or two, oh no.... I don't have gifts for about 5 people. No good!! With my finals only ending this week it has been hard to focus on anything else. And then there is the fact that I didn't get paid until the 15th, so my money supply was short. And worst of all, I have had so much trouble trying to figure out what to get people. I am really indecisive any way, but this year seems to be extra hard. I don't know what to get any one, and even though I have wandered 5 or 6 stores, just hoping that things will pop out at me, I am having NO LUCK!! So really need to get all of it done on Monday and guess what will be here just in time for that.... yup another snow storm, just my luck!

Now for a RANDOM THOUGHT.
I went to Gardner Village tonight to do some of that wandering I mentioned, and on the way there, I passed the West Jordan City Cemetery. This is where my Grandpa was buried and for some reason it just hit me and I had a little melt down in the car. It's still just weird to think that he is gone and that this is the first Christmas with out him.

My addiction: LIP GLOSS!!
So, I know I am supposed to be shopping for other people, but it's not going so well. But that doesn't stop me from finding stuff for myself!! And some of you may know, I have a slight addiction to lip stuff, especially if it comes in cool packaging! And I know that stores are totally watching for suckers like me, and that is why they put stuff like this in the check out line so you are forced to look at it while you are waiting. This is exactly what happened while I was at Bath & Body works tonight. I found some way cool lip gloss while I was standing in line and I cant wait to use it!!

And for you Twilight fans here's some NEW MOON info:
First of all, we only have to wait a year (well, technically less than a year) to see our favorite vampire as the release date is set for November 20th, 2009!! I am already counting down!! There is a new director for the movie, Chris Weitz, and it will be interesting to see his take on it. Hopefully he will stay true to the book and will make an awesome movie even though he only has a short time to do it. Also, there are talks that they will be replacing Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black, which to me is pretty sad. I have never been a big Jacob fan, but I hate it when they change actors. I understand what they are thinking on it, but its just not the same when they change people. I also read online today that Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian from the new Chronicles of Narnia movie) is wanting the part of Aro. HUH??? Okay, so he's a pretty good looking kid, but he is so young and Aro is supposed to look WAY old!! I just don't get it!! So who knows what will happen! I just hope the whole thing works out and that the movies just keep getting better!!

Well, I think that is about it. Sorry for all of the crazy random-ness!! Good luck to any of you that are still Christmas shopping (I share you pain) and drive safe in our crazy Utah weather.

MyHeritage: Family trees - Genealogy - Celebs - Collage - Morph

Ahhh, the things you can find on the Internet when you surfing the web on a Sunday evening. I came across this and thought it would be fun to do! I tried it with a couple of different pictures and Katherine Heigl and Sally Field came up almost every time. And even though she is not on this list, Judy Garland came up a lot when I used different pictures!
So yeah, if you are bored like me and have nothing better to do, check it out!!

In Loving Memory

I have been meaning to do this for awhile, but this time of year is so crazy, that it has been hard to find a spare moment to sit down and actually write it. I’m going to apologize in advance because this is long (and seriously don’t feel like you have to read all of it) but I like to use my blog as a kind of journal for myself and I want to remember the things that have happened in the last week. So here it goes…
Last Wednesday, my grandpa on my Mom’s side passed away from bone cancer. A few months ago he went to the doctor because he was having back pain that he thought was from a work injury. But after doing a bunch of tests, they told him they were pretty sure it was cancer and that it had already spread throughout most of his bones. He was in a lot of pain for awhile and it was sad to think of him suffering because he was always such a strong man. This is his obituary that ran in the paper on Saturday and Sunday:

Bruce Scrowther 1932 ~ 2008 Verner Bruce Scrowther passed away peacefully at his daughter's home, surrounded by loved ones, December 3, 2008. He was born February 28, 1932 in Smithfield, Utah to Verner LeGrand and Viola Bingham Scrowther. He attended North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah where he lettered in football. He served four years in the United States Navy; two of them were during the Korean War. He loved to sing and was part of a Barber Shop Quartet for several years. He enjoyed dancing and never missed a chance to take a twirl with his sweetheart, Linda, on the dance floor. He was an avid bowler, participating in The World Senior Olympic Games in St. George, UT, winning numerous medals. His profession was a craftsman in the flooring industry. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Linda; step children: Lisa Wallace, Leslie (Brad) Lund and Lyn Mortensen; seven children with Carole Maxfield, later divorced; daughters: Terri (Robert) Everill, Debbie (Joseph) Knorr, Linda (Gregory) Smith, Marilyn (Kurt) Markus, Susan (Ammon) Warby, Wendy (Shawn) Smart; son, David Scrowther; 30 grandchildren;11 great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Mason, Arizona; brother, Ned (Nancy) Scrowther. He is preceded in death by his wives, Gloria Warmoth and RaNae Barton; parents, Verner and Viola Scrowther; sisters, Colleen Sugden and LaNae Scrowther; daughter, Cynthia Jane. Special thanks to Hospice of Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2008, at the LDS Church,1600 East Buttercup Dr. (10075 So.). A viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.

The Sunday before he died my family went over to my aunt’s house to visit him and that was really hard for me. When we first walked in the door my thought was “I don’t think I want to do this.” I haven’t had a close family member die since I was little, so I was just not sure I how to handle the whole situation. Seeing him in his hospital bed was so hard. He had lost so much weight and just wasn’t the Grandpa I remembered. At one point he tried to wake up and turn on his hearing aide, but was having a really hard time, and he couldn’t get one of his eyes to open so he was trying to lift his eye lid wit his finger and that made me so sad. So I waved and said hi to him and had to leave the room. He was also having a really hard time remembering who people were and kept forgetting people’s names, but my mom told me that when she visited him the next day he had remembered that I had been there, so I was really glad that I went.
We have had some family come in town for his funeral and it was nice to spend time with them. We sat around together, telling stories, and I learned a lot of new things about my grandpa. My mom and her sisters were also able to share some really cool experiences that they have had with my grandpa in the last weeks of his life and it was so amazing to hear them. One of my favorite stories is that my grandpa really hated to take his medicine because he didn’t like the taste of if. So after my aunt would give it to him, he would chase it down with a spoon full of sugar. Well my grandpa has always loved to sing, so he would sing that song when my aunt would give him his medicine every day.
His funeral services were really nice and there were so many wonderful things said about him. My aunt asked each of her 6 siblings to share their favorite memory of my grandpa and then during her talk she shared those experiences with us. Some of the stories were so funny and others were very sweet. When we went to our cars to go to the cemetery it was freezing cold and snowing on top of that. The services at the cemetery we amazing, despite the frigid cold! My grandpa was in the navy so the RVA was there to help with his internment. There was a bagpipe player that played Amazing Grace while the pallbearers carried the casket to the site and it was so incredible. After the prayer was said the RVA took over and did their part, which included a gun salute, the playing of Taps and folding of an American flag. One of my cousins is in the army so he actually got to help with that part of the service and it was such a neat thing to see. He’s not an emotional guy, so when I saw him crying right at the very beginning, I lost it. When the flag was folded, he kneeled in front of my Step Grandma and said “On behalf of the President of the United States, thank you for the service of your loved one” and then saluted her and handed her the flag. I can’t even think of the right words to explain how I felt at that moment. The bagpipe player started playing again and we took roses and laid them on top of his casket as we left.
Later that day, in honor of my grandpa’s love for bowling, we went to the lanes in Sandy and bowled for a few hours. It was so much fun spending time with family, laughing and just having fun. Each of my grandpa’s kids took a turn using his bowling ball and that was really fun to see, even though most of them were not strong enough to roll it the right way and had to granny style it!
So even though it is sad he is gone, I know that I will get to see him again. I’m also glad that he is free from the pain that his cancer caused him, and that he can finally rest of work and everything else he worried about! And I also know how much happier he is now! He had so many people on the other side waiting for him and I’m sure they are all celebrating his return! And I wouldn’t be surprised if my grandpa was trying to set up some kind of angel’s bowling league!

Happy Thanksgiving

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

How amazing is it that there is a whole day set aside for us to remember all of the things we are thankful for! But as great as it is to remember and express our gratitude today, we should really do it all the time!
I just wanted to list some of the things I am the most thankful for!

*I'm most thankful for my family! They drive me crazy sometimes, and I'm not as nice to them as I should be, so I am so grateful they put up with me!
*I'm also really grateful for my friends! What would I do with you?! You make me laugh and are there when I need to talk! THANKS!
*I'm thankful for my job. Weird huh?? But really, there are people out there that cant find work, and I know that is so hard for them!! My work has been so great to work with my crazy school schedule and my co-workers aren't half bad either!
*I'm thankful for my car! It's old and slow and makes lots of funny noises, but at least I have one!
*I'm thankful for the United States of America! Our country truly is amazing and I'm so glad I am a citizen!
*I truly appreciate our armed forces and the huge sacrifice they make to keep us all safe.
*I'm grateful that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I get so many blessings and I to often don't express how glad I am for them!
*I'm so thankful for Thomas S. Monson, the President of the church. He is such an amazing man and I love listening to him speak! I'm also thankful for all of the past presidents!
*I'm thankful for the house I live in and the fact that I get my own room!
*I'm thankful for the beautiful mountain I see when I look out my window. They are always so beautiful whether they are covered in snow, pretty fall colors, and the blue of the spruces!

The list goes on and on! I'm sure there are some other big things I have forgotten, but I'm thankful for them to! And there are lots of little things I'm thankful for too, like: my cell phone, my flat iron, manicures, good books, high heels, lip gloss, music, in door plumbing, laser hair removal, flowers, Slurpees, digital cameras, my down comforter, the piano, email, and movies. Again, I could probably go on all day about the little things that make my life better!!
So HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!! I hope everyone's day is wonderful and you get to spend it with the ones that mean the most to you!

"Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done. Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your many blessings. See what God has done."

Box Office Breaker

Good new my fellow Twilighters!! The movie was a HUGE hit this weekend! I don't know about you, but I really didn't doubt that it was going to be amazing! So, what are the totals for this awesome show you ask...... SEVENTY point SIX MILLION dollars!! Crazy huh!! It obviously came in at number one for the weekend with Quantum of Solace in second at only 27.4 million. That's at 43.1 million dollar difference!! Whoa!!
I thought the show was a great adaptation of the book and cant wait to see more (in case you didn't know, it has been CONFIRMED that they are doing New Moon)!! It's seriously all I have thought about all weekend long! I have already thought about the next time I can see it again! Hooray for the holiday weekend!
It also broke a record!! If you'd like to find out which one, and more about the number totals, here is the story: http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.ap.org-twilight-sucks-up-706m-box-office-debut-ap

In other non-Twilight related news (I can just hear the sigh of relief from some of you), I just have to say the school is killing me right now!! I have SO much homework and I am pretty sure there is no way to get it all done! I feel like I am drowning in it!! In my Great Books class, I have to write a 7 page paper and then read it in front of my WHOLE class. There are only 8 other people in there, but still! Half of them are English majors, and my paper compared to theirs is going to be terrible!! Not looking forward to it!! Only three Mondays left though and then I will FINALLY be on my last semester of school!! Thank goodness!!

Hmmmm, what else.... Oh! I found the CUTEST fabric at the store the other day!! It's black with big cream polka dots on it and I really want to make it into a skirt!! The only problem...... I have NO IDEA how to sew!! My grandma tried to give me some quick lessons when she was sewing my Halloween costume, but I still don't know what I am doing!! I have never been that great at sewing... my TLC teacher gave me a C in sewing.... my lowest grade ever and I was seriously devastated by it!! Darn that mean lady! Anyway.... I am hoping to find a cute and simple pattern, so I can somehow figure it out myself!! One day I will have the cutest polka dot skirt...... one day....

Twilight at Midnight

****Sigh**** Edward!!! :0)
The day I have been waiting for since May final arrived!! I went to the midnight premier of Twilight and it was so much fun!
Before the movie started we went to Village Inn for dinner!! Mmmmm, the ham and cheese skillet was so good!! And just to make sure there was no chance I could fall asleep, I had a glass and a half of Dr. Pepper!! It was fun just sitting there though because the whole restaurant was full of girls! Young ones, old ones, in between ones!! It was awesome!! And of course there were people dressed up and it’s always fun to play “Your Team!!”
After dinner we went over to the theater and holy cow it was insane!! There were so many girls there!! Haha!! I loved it! There were so many of us that we started using the men’s bathroom!! It was hilarious to watch the few guys that were there open the door and do a double take and then ask “Ummm, isn’t this the men’s room?” The best though was the guy that came in and walked to front of the line and looked around and asked “Do I really have to wait in the line?” We all laughed as said welcome to the girls world! There was one brave boy, probably about 12 that didn’t let us stop him. He totally walked in and did his business at the urinal and left!! What a brave soul!! Haha!!
At that point we had an extra ticket so I called and invited my friend Christine to come over and I was happy she could make it! We didn’t have the greatest seats (second row from the front) but we had seats and that’s all that mattered! One of the previews that they showed was for Harry Potter and it was weird to think that that was the movie that we would have been watching that night and I’d still be counting down the days to Twilight! And now I have to admit that I couldn’t help but cheer a little when it started, ahhhh!! It was so awesome!! And then the first time Edward comes on screen, awwwww it was wonderful!! We got lucky and didn’t have a mass of screaming people in our theater which was nice!
Overall, I think the movie was pretty good!! They obviously had to leave stuff out for times sake, and they had to make a few changes for the movie to flow, but I thought it was good!! The end it so awesome!! I won’t give it away but there is a little twist!! :0) And I loved it so much that I just bought tickets for a showing tonight and am now counting down the hours until I get to see Edward again!! And why ruin a good thing….. I think I’m gonna have to see it again tomorrow!! Any one with me???
So yeah, now I am counting down to New Moon!! Who knows how long it will take to get that one out, but I am hoping this time next year I will be boring you all with my crazy posts about the newest Twilight Saga movie!!

And I have to put a little side note in here about my shirt. So I ordered this AWESOME shirt online that says “Vampire Baseball League” on the front and on the back it said CULLEN 09!!! Sweet huh!! Well, it didn’t get here in time! I cannot even tell you how sad I am about it!! I seriously considered driving to Denver to meet the UPS man, I wanted it that bad! It was really sad to watch the baseball part without my shirt (how much do you want to bet that it will show up at my house today?). So I went to the mall yesterday to try and ease my sadness and to try to find another shirt. Well, I thought about getting the “Team Edward shirt, but I just kind of figured, there are not really teams yet. I LOVE the shirts that other people have, but I think I want to wear a “Team Edward” one during New Moon or Eclipse though. So to make up for it I bought something pretty dang cool, in my opinion!! It’s Rosalie’s necklace that she wears in the movie with the Cullen crest on it!! It’s huge, but I love it!! I am totally wearing it today!
So that is my Twilight at midnight experience! It was so much fun!! It doesn’t even matter that I am falling asleep as I type, because it was totally worth it!! I just went up to our teller and got some cash out so I can keep the Dr. Pepper handy! Haha!! It’s going to be a sugar rush day!!

And just a little P.S.- If you need a viewing buddy I will totally go with you; any time, any place!! :0)

Getting Closer!

FIVE DAYS!! That's all there is until Twilight hits theater! I can't even describe how extremely excited I am!!
So this morning, I was flipping through the channels and on MTV it showed Spoilers: Twilight. So of course I immediately went to station hoping to catch the last 5 minutes of it. And guess what I saw...... a new clip from the movie! Wahoo!! Like most of the other clips, it's really short, but so much fun to watch!!

Also, while I was bored at work yesterday, I was reading the articles on Yahoo and one of them was about the next 3 Twilight Saga movie!! YAY!! It said that Summit Entertainment has bought the right to all of them and the screenwriter for Twilight has been asked to come up with screenplays for New Moon and Eclipse! So hopefully we will be seeing the rest of the series very very soon!!

Sounds of the Season

So I have to make a confession….. I have been listening to Christmas music in my car ever since Halloween ended!! It’s not the whole time I’m in my car, but a good part of it is! FM 100 and KOSY 106.5 have been playing all the classics since November 1st and I love listening to them!
I usually wait until Thanksgiving is over to start tuning in, but this year I decided, what the heck!! :0) Last year, Christmas went by way to fast!! The 25th came and went and I never really felt like I had the Christmas spirit. It wasn’t a bad Christmas by any means; it just went by to quick! So I’m starting early this year! I love hearing The Jingle Bell Rock and Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!! They are so fun and upbeat and just put me in a good mood!! And The Christmas Shoes still makes me cry every time I hear it!
I also want to put a bunch of Christmas music on my iPod!! I especially want to get The Forgotten Carols on there! Those songs are amazing!! And the Chipmunk Christmas songs, haha, those are great too!! :0)

My Travel Bucket List

Traveling is one of my most favorite things to do. I have gone to some great places and I have even been luck enough to travel out of the United States. It was such an awesome experience and I would LOVE to do it again!!
I am always saying "Oh that's on my list of places to go" when people talk about places they've been or when I see something cool in a movie. So I just though I would write down my Travel Bucket List!

1- Washington D.C. :I NEED to see the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the war monuments, etc.
2- Gettysburg: I'm a big fan of history
3- Boston
3- Philadelphia: The Liberty Bell, the birth place of the Declaration of Independence, how cool!!
4- New York: This includes (or course) Time Square, Rockefeller Center, the Statue of Liberty and a Broadway musical! But I also want to go to upstate New York where Joseph Smith and his family lived
5- Nauvoo & Carthage Jail (My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was with the prophet when he died there)
6- The Sacred Grove
7- Mount Rushmore
8- New Orleans
9- Forks, Washington (Haha)
10- The Redwood Forest
11- The Grand Canyon
12- Yellowstone
13- The Northern Lights in Alaska
14- Whale watching off the northern Pacific coast
15- Hawaii: Pearl Harbor, pretty beaches and pineapple fields

And that is my list of things to see in the U.S. (I'm sure if I sat here long enough, I could think of tons more)! Now onto the rest of the world!

1- Egypt- How amazing would it be to see the pyramids!! I don't know if they are currently on the 7 Wonders list, but they should be!! They look amazing!! And you cant leave Egypt without seeing the Sphinx!!
2- Greece- The water looks so blue and pretty!! I would also love to see the Parthenon
3- The canals of Venice
4- The view from the Eiffel Tower (yeah.... I missed this one. Long, sad story......)
5- I can never see enough London
6- Scottish castles
7- White cliffs of Dover
8- Pretty, green Ireland

Rollercoaster

Oh man! Life is so crazy sometimes…. well, a lot of the time, and today is no exception. It didn’t start of that great because I didn’t set my alarm so I woke up really late! Don’t get me wrong, sleeping in felt wonderful, but when you make up at 7:20 and have to be to the University of Utah at 8:00 that is a BIG problem. So I was rushing to get ready and made it out of my house just before 8 (pretty good time huh??). So I finally made it to the freeway, and of course (only because I was in huge hurry) there was an accident that slowed me down. It took me a whole stupid hour to make it up to campus.
The preschool wasn’t bad. The kids are always so funny and aside from the cleaning I had to do, it was a pretty low key day. After that I went up and met with my advisor and this is where my day started to pick up!! They found a place for me to do my internship next semester, which is a HUGE blessing, since the program has been full for awhile. And guess what that means….. I WILL BE GRADUATING IN MAY 2009!! I cannot tell you how excited I am about this!! Only about 6 months and then I will be done with school forever!!
The good day kept going as I drove to Fort Union and got Café Rio for lunch!! Mmmmm, I sat in the restaurant eating my chicken burrito and reading my Twilight book. I then went over to Target and found myself a pair of black rain boots with polka dots all over them! No more wading through the lakes at my work!! And then I went and got gas. More happiness as it only cost me $29.00 to fill up my whole tank!!
Then I had to go to work, but I made a pit stop on the way in. I went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and got a Chocolate Cheesecake Carmel Apple to share with everyone in my department. If you have never been there, I STRONGLY suggest you go!! They have AMAZING stuff there!!
And then I get to work…… and my rollercoaster day heads back down. It’s a really long, crazy story, but basically some stuff is going to possibly happen and my job that I am really not happy about. I should probably talk to my manager about it, but I am a big wimp. ***sigh***
So, hopefully my day has some kind of trend and things getting better when I leave work. I am crossing my finger.

Just Not Ready

I'm not ready for this..... the freezing, frigid coldness!! This is what I woke up to this morning:
It was not fun!! I don't know exactly how much snow was on the ground, but there was a pretty good amount!! And it's hard to tell in this picture, but it was snowing like crazy!!
So the drive to work was not fun at all!! Normally it takes me about 15 to 20 mins. to get to work, but today it took me about 50! It felt so much longer than that though!! I have become such a paranoid driver after being rear-ended so many times!! I kept waiting for my car to start sliding!! Luckily it never happened. But.... the winter has just begun!!
The snow continued allllllll day long!! There were only a few times when I looked out the window and it wasn't snowing!! The worst though was after work was over. First off, now that daylight savings time is over, it is very dark when work ends. Well, I go outside and my car is sitting in a little lake. Well, I guess it was more like a pond, but a frozen over pond!! So I had to walk through the FREEZING cold ice water to get to my car..... miserable!! My toes were so cold when I got in the car!! At least the drive home was not as scary as the drive there!!
Something else I am not ready for...... our nation to become Socialist. But, there's not a whole lot that I can do now, but cross my fingers, and maybe build myself a fallout shelter!!
That being said, I do need to say how thrilled I am to have lived through a historic moment. I think it's cool that racial barriers have been broken and we have our first African American president.
And the last thing I am just not ready for, the end of the semester. Now, this does not mean that I want the semester to go on for another 10 weeks (because I am SO ready to be that much closer to graduation), but I still have so much to do before it ends!! I have so many projects, papers, lessons and observations to do in the next 5 weeks!! Somehow it will all get done!! It may mean some all nighters, but I may not have any other choice!!

Testing Testing

So I got on YouTube and searched Twilight (I know, I know! I'm sorry people, but it is seriously like an addiction for me!!!) and found some of the TV spots of the Twilight trailer. I am trying to figure out how to post video right in my blog, so here's to hoping it works!

AHHHHHHH!!! IT WORKED, IT WORKED, IT WORKED!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am about this!! I had to do some crazy things to get it to work, but FINALLY!!! WAHOO!!

THANKS again Lindsay!! You are awesome!!

Best 8 Minutes of My Day

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR THE ROME FILM FESTIVAL!!!! They showed EIGHT whole minutes of Twilight!!! It is SO awesome!! I spent way to much time watching it yesterday and I'm sure I will do the same thing today!!!

**I'm sorry for all the screaming girls!! They sounds pretty
crazy!! And the sound quality is not that great, but I still
love watching it!!**
And here is the short clip that was posted on MSN the other day!! It's the lunchroom scene. It's short, but sweet!! Only 16 days to go!!
And I also have to say DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TODAY!!!

Halloween

Halloween this year was lots of fun!! My department at work tries to dress up in themes and this year we decided to do Batman and Villains. My manager was great and agreed to be the Caped Crusader and we also had someone dressed like Robin. As for the villains, we had Harley Quinn, The Joker, Two Face and Poison Ivy. It's was funny to watch people walk into a credit union and see us all dressed up!! It was also fun to walk through the building and look at what everyone else was dressed as. The tellers were punk rockers and the tech department dressed as 50's girls. I think one of my favorite costumes though was a lady in our collections department. She took a Life cereal box and stuck a bunch of plastic knives in it and became a "cereal" killer!! Haha!!

I also love Halloween because it means pumpkin carving!! This year, I carved a total of five pumpkins. I took my three alien pumpkins to work and I won a prize for them! Wahoo!! At home, I had a funny face pumpkin and a pirate pumpkin! At my house we also have The Great Pumpkin!! My grandparents grew giant pumpkins in there garden this year and we were lucky enough to get one of them. It is HUGE and it's so fun to see it sitting in front of our house!!

On Halloween night I went to a dance with my friends Michelle and VaLon in Taylorsville. It was pretty fun and even more fun to just act silly. There were some pretty interesting people there..... pizza box, hot and ready boy (WEIRD), some flip flops and an car freshener!! One of the weirdest though was a group of girls that dressed up like Troll dolls. They had on skin colored body suits, stuffed with pillows with bum cracks drawn on them. It was so weird! My favorite though was the guy dressed at Sherlock Holmes!! Haha :0)

P.S. THANK YOU Lindsay for giving me tips on how to post video!! You're awesome!!

P.P.S Everyone should read my "Remember When" post and should play along!!

and one last thing......

VOTE VOTE VOTE tomorrow. And guess what.... only 17 days to Twilight!!

Only 20 days!!

So I know it is Halloween and I should be doing some kind of fun Halloween post with all my cool pictures that I have taken today, but the night is still young! So I decided to leave that for tomorrow!!
Instead, I thought I'd post some stuff from, what else... TWILIGHT!! There are only TWENTY days left people!! And I still have that extra ticket if someone wants it!!
The other day, I saw a really cool preview for the movie on TV. It was the final Twilight preview, with a twist!! A really awesome twist!! There was some stuff from the Port Angeles scene, but my favorite.... Edward (***sigh***) playing Bella's lullaby!! AHHHHHH!! It was SO awesome!! So I have been searching the web trying to find it, and now luck. But I found a this really cool video that has pieces of clips, some old, some new. Check it out!

(Again you are just going to have to go to the YouTube website because I
ABSOLUTELY do not get how you embed videos!! People keep telling
me to just copy and paste the embed code thing, but it never works!
It only copies part of the stupid, long thing and I can NEVER get it
to work!! If ANY ONE has any tips of how to solve my stupid
problem, I would LOVE to hear them!!)
And for those of you that don't have the movie Penelope, here is the cute clip that is previewed before the movie!!
So, that is it for the day!! Haha, I can hear Angee right now "Jeez, you are obsessed with it girl!!" Haha!! Angee you are awesome!! It's almost here though, and then I swear I will stop blogging about it (with the exception of the one blog taking about how totally AWESOME it was), haha!!
P.S. Have a SPOOK-TACULAR Halloween!!

Hope Your Not Sick of Twilight News!!

Okay, so I just got on the internet to check my email and what do I see on the MSN homepage??? A new clip from Twilight!! Wahoo!! It seriously made my day!!
It's really short but it's still awesome!! I have been trying to find a way to post a link or something, but it's just not working for me (yeah... I am totally technologically challenged... sad I know).
So if you got to MSN, go into the videos section and click on movies. You should be able to find it in there somewhere! If you have watched the newest trailer, there is part where Bella knocks an apple off the counter and Edward (****sigh****) catches it is his hands (totally awesome referance to the books amazing cover). It's an extension of that scene.
Like I said, short and sweet, but still so much fun to watch!!

All New!!

So a few days ago I got an email from my awesome friend Danielle about how the LA Times is doing a countdown everyday to Twilight with stories, pictures and videos!! So I just got on so I could read today's story and I couldn't find it. But while I was looking for it I saw the Twilight trailer on T.V.!! It was so awesome!! I know I have already watched it a million times and basically have it memorized, but it never gets old!
Anyway, while I was searching for the Twilight stuff, I saw a link for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Since I wasn't finding anything about Twilight I decided to click on it, and guess what I found..... A BRAND NEW TRAILER!! It is so cool and makes me so excited for the next 200+ days to go by fast!! Check it out!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZFitUCO_pk ***(I'm really lame and don't get how you just "embed" the video in your blog, so you will just have to go to YouTube to see it!!)***

And if you haven't seen the first trailer, you should watch that one too!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV8m-XL1kxg

And now back to Twilight!! Did you know that there are only TWENTY THREE days until it hits theaters!! I am SO excited about it!! I actually bought tickets to opening night this weekend so I am all set!! I actually have an extra ticket if any one is interested in it!! Let me know!!
And guess what... while I was on the awesome La Times website, I found out that on November 7th, Catherine Hardwicke (the movies director), Robert Pattinson (ahhhh, Edward) and Kristen Stewart (Bella) will be doing a question and answer thing about the movie in LA. The best part... they will be showing new footage from the movie!! I am hoping that some awesome person out there will be posting it on YouTube!!
